Where is a bloody service manual for the C-spec?
« on: January 13, 2020, 04:40:10 pm »
I downloaded a free service manual some time back for the 2017-2018 Bolt & R-spec.  Decided later to purchase when I couldn't find one for the C-spec.  Just received the 2014-2016 CD but it's for the Bolt & R-spec.  I won't complain about why they couldn't slap an addendum somewhere in the manual that addresses the few differences in the models but it kind of pisses me off that when I do find specifically for the C-spec, it's advertised at $267.  No joke.  Found another one for $99 so I guess that's a little better.  I can find the Bolt/R-spec all day long for $15.
Seriously, what's the deal with this?

LIT-11616-27-30 only covers std and R-Spec. LIT-11616-28-53 only covers C-Spec. I should be able to download a pdf thru the shop but it might be watermarked.

I can live with a watermark.  Yeah, noticed after the download DrM provided it still only covers the standard & R-spec, even though the description says it includes the C-spec.  I'm not even sure if I'll ever need it.  Most of the differences won't take a rocket scientist for sort out.  Thanks to both of you for the quick responses.

Lunkhead, can you do me a favor & lookup the fork spring specs for the C-spec?  I'm interested in the free lengths of the spacer & spring, the spring rate & total travel of the forks.  I need to know if any of those things are different from the standard & R-spec.

It would be a digital watermark. Only Yamaha will see it in illegally uploaded files. It'll link them to our dealership. Printed to paper is safe.

I'll check spring length when I find the manual but I bet only the spacer was lengthened.

That's what I was thinking too but Ronayers gives different part numbers for the springs.  C-spec & SCR950 are the same, just like the Bolt & R-spec.  Maybe they have different spring rates between the three?

Standard Bolt spring is 322.2 and C-Spec is 343.2 mm or 21 mm longer. Std takes 547 cc oil and C-Spec takes 568 cc or 21 cc more. Levels are 116 mm and 114 mm respectively.

If anyone finds a digital copy for the C-Spec, send it to me and I'll post it in the Tech Library for everyone!
