Stock Clutch Cable with Keystones
« on: May 03, 2021, 09:58:24 am »
Hello guys,

I have recently installed the keystones on my bolt using the stock cables. I know a lot of members have done the same.

I’m not particularly happy with the clutch cable. it doesn’t seem to have as much slack as others on this forum and ended up having to take it out of the stock position for it to sit comfortably.

Am I missing something?

I think most of us have had to reroute the clutch cable for higher bars.  My rerouted clutch cable is OK, but it is probably at its limit.  Any higher bars and I would likely have to buy an extended cable.

I have just seen examples such as ‘fourteen’ on this forum and theirs is still in the stock location and plenty of slack.

Did you lift the tank off to reroute underneath or just in-between the from forks?

I didn't remove the tank, but I did reroute the clutch cable from in front of the triple tree to just aft of the triple tree.  I might have gotten more slack if I had removed the tank and rerouted at some point further aft.
