« on: July 05, 2021, 05:45:38 am »
Hi Guys,
I'm desperate looking for risers that can fit my bike's handlebars. I looked over the internet and I can't find anything that make me sure it will fit. Did someone put the risers in this type of bike? Can you link me the one that you bought?
thanks in advance to anyone who will reply

i post a pic of my bike handlebar so you can understand better what type of handlebars and mount I currently have (first pic) and a pic of what im looking for (second pic)

(hope the section is the right one)

Unfortunately, you cannot add risers to your type of handlebars (commonly called "clip on" handlebars). You would have to remove those and add regular risers and handlebars for that. From what I understand, the C-Spec you have has a sticker on the top of the triple clamp, under which is the mounting holes for the normal style risers.

You can either pull this sticker off and add the rubber mounts, bolts, and risers (of which you can also use aftermarket, just make sure they're for the same diameter as the handlebars you want... factory is 1"),
OR
buy the whole upper (or top) triple clamp assembly with the risers and maybe even handlebars already attached. You will need to remove your upper triple clamp to remove the C-Spec's clip-on bars anyway.

Note: I personally cannot confirm this, perhaps somebody else can; I THINK I read somewhere that the C-Spec clip-on bars are 7/8", which would mean the handlebar controls and grips would not fit onto factory size regular bars or aftermarket. IF that is the case, you might be better off getting risers and bars to match the size you have.
If the clip-ons are 1", then you're all set to convert.

Good luck, be safe

thanks for the reply...

I think I misspelled what I need... I know that I can't add risers on this type of handlebars and I know that I have to remove the cover on the centerplate to put them on and change the whole handlebar..

what im looking for is infos on which type/model of risers, rubber mounts and bolts (maybe a full set with all of them already combined) I have to buy that would fit the centerplate after I remove the cover(if anyone ever did this type of conversion on this forum).

you're right on the size of my handlebars and the clip-ons... is 7/8"

Check out this thread.  Look at naka's post about using fork extensions and then mounting the clip-ons to that.
