My Bolts neutral light is not showing up
« on: September 12, 2020, 03:43:14 pm »
Hi Everyone I am new to the group, so please bear with me  :)

* I have a 2018 Yamah Bolt Type R with 3k miles on it and had it since a year
* Suddenly my Neutral indicator is not showing/lighting up in the dashboard/gauge cluster
* I am sure that I am in neutral gear, as I can move the bike
* And the bike wont start unless I pull the clutch
* of course I tried all above removing the side stand as well
(No handle bar mods are done - stock)

I think the issue is with the neutral sensor. Please correct me if I am wrong.

Do I need to replace my neutral sensor ? And I am unable to locate the neutral sensor and there are no videos references of them anywhere.

Can anyone please help out fixing this issue.

The neutral position sensor sits below and behind the front pulley. You can just see it with a wire attached to it if you look up from underneath without the cover on. Looks a pain to remove, might need the pulley removed first. I would trace the wire back to the attachment on the loom and check the connection for corrosion etc.
