I find the cost of mufflers and headers for motorcycles to be outrageously expensive. How can a slip-on muffler cost $500 to $600 dollars? A nice job of compiling the list though! The only part of my stock Bolt that I don't care for is the muffler. It looks too bulky to me. Does anyone know if someone makes a slip-on that looks better but is close to the stock one so that I don't have to buy a fuel controller? I'm perfectly happy with the stock performance of my Bolt.
That looks like the set SS is making.
My TBR Black Series Slip-On came with a removable sound tip. With the tip, I'd say the TBR Black is about an 8. Without it it's about a 9. I have the tip off, and to put it into perspective, I coast half-way down my driveway (engine off), then throttle barely enough to tip-toe out of the neighborhood.Maybe others would rate it plus or minus 1 point for loudness, but 8/9 (with/without tip) is my best guess.
I've been considering a Supertrapp 4 inch universal 18 inches long, has anyone tried this yet? I like the idea of it being tunable and at $269 the price is right, plus they look pretty cool.http://www.supertrapp.com/product_sections/cat.asp?CatID=32http://www.supertrapp.com/product_sections/detail.asp?CatID=32&ItemID=449-1718
