Yes P,  the purpose of the bar end weights are to reduce bar end vibration, how much on a Bolt???  Strange that (Yamaha reduced reach) accessory bars don't have them.

The one in the video is different. It's has one-way grabbing teeth that allow it to go in easy but hard to remove. The C-Spec is a solid piece that is a press fit. You'll need a slide hammer. A threaded rod or long bolt, vice grips and a hammer will get it done.

There is the rubber between the nut and the outer sleeve. But you're saying there's no clip/teeth. Its just tight in there ? Yikes. I guess a slide hammer of my own creating will be made.
Cool.

Hi!

I searched the forum for answers but could only seem to find answers relating to older models and/or the R-spec, which seems to have installed a different kind of weights.

I have bought a pair of Kellermann BL2000 bar end indicators for my 2017 C-spec with clip-on handlebars that Iím trying to install. The problem is Iím having a hard time removing the bar end weights. Thereís no weld spot underneath the grips, so no point in drilling into the handle. It seems to be a mixture of rubber and glue around the the bar end weight which keeps it from moving. Tried looking it up on YouTube and found som solutions where some argued you could yank it out. Does anyone have any experience in this? Please share :)

Once you remove it, post a pic of how long they are etc. I have /2 a mind to drill parallel to the bar in the clip on and using a dowel to knock the thing out.
Cool.

You can try to draw it out or at least get it close to the end with a thick washer and a hardened bolt. A slide hammer might bounce too much. I don't remember mine being rubber mounted.

Mine is sticking out 1/8" or so. I'm gonna need a piece of 7/8th tubing and a washer and a bolt.
Cool.

I had a question - How did they fit that thin walled pipe into the cast clamp ?
I thought it was solid, which meant it was cast as 1 unit and the tube turned to spec - like all bikes with 1 pice clip on's like my SV, GSXR etc etc.
Did they do all that and then drill down the center ? Then stuff it with this contraption ?
Cool.

If anyone has luck removing the weights please post how you did it. I have been thinking about attempting what is shown in this video -> https://youtu.be/ecXDwtcfbkg The Bolt also has M6x1 threads for its "Damper Holder" inserts. If you didn't want to go find a slide hammer you could use a socket that fits over the stock bar end bolt but not over the head and use a normal hammer to beat on that, though your angle won't be the best.

I was looking at similar bar end signals and have been looking at finding a way to directly thread them in place of the bolted on end weights since the thread patterns aren't the same.

Take a 1" OD, and larger than 7/8" ID pipe about 1ft long. Actually PVC - that grey stuff from lowes will work here quite well.
Put an end cap on it, same PVC in fact works here too. Drill a 1/4" hole, put a 6mm bolt and washer through it.
Take off all the handlebar fittings, switches, throttle, grips etc etc.
Put that pipe over the clip on so it bears against the clamp part.
Then put that 6mm bolt through washer, and the hole in the end cap, and screw it into the weight.
Then tighten it and it will pull the weight out as you tighten it. Sort of like a flywheel puller.
I know the description sounds complicated, but in reality its not.

More like slide a long pipe over the clipon, and use it as a flywheel puller.

Cool.

The one shown in that last video is different. It's a one-way bite with spikes. Those come out with force. The rubber mounted C-Spec is pressed in tight. You can't press it out and the rubber might bounce with a slide hammer or rip with a threaded puller. I want mine in so someone else will have to try.

Yea I'm leaving mine in as well.
But 1" PVC pipe cut to length, end cap for that, drill 1/4" hole in end cap. Slide that over the clip on and make sure you loosen the brake and clutch clamps and slide those inward. Do that before measuring the length to cut the pipe.
Then 6mm dia 75mm long bolt, and flat washer. Pass through the hole in the end cap, screw into the bar end fitting, tighten till it comes loose. wd40, penetrating oil, and wiggling it as you tighten will be essential.

Cost, under $10.

Cool.

Oh EFF that.
1/2" sch 40 pvc OD is .84". The clip on's are .875".
End cap for the 1/2" will cost under $2 and will sit tight on the edge.
Drill the thing 1/4" and use a bolt and washer and get it out.
Oh screw this, I'll do it. I love it when I hack crap and I want to prove it now.
Cool.

Let us know how it goes. Pictures of the weights when you get them out and your contraption if you can.

Depending on how that goes for you, I'm looking at doing either what you're doing and pulling the weight out with a bolt, or the bar end signals I'm looking at are M8x1.25 threaded so I could just drill the weights out and tap them to that thread patter and direct thread them into the bar.

You cant drill the weights, they have a thin metal insert with threads and then its rubber, the outer wall is metal again, and from what Lunkhead says, the outer wall is tight to the ID of the bar so its pressed in there. So nothing to drill and tap.
Cool.

That's fair 8mm is pretty much all of the end metal (pardon the bad picture) Looks like it's Doing the flywheel puller technique when parts get here. Let me know how yours goes and throw some pics at us.

I removed the left one using a 6mmX65mm long bolt and a 19mm socket as in place of the PVC pipe. The bar end now is installed in the socket wrench. So Dont do that. I also would have removed it if I had a vice etc etc. So I'll get it out soon.
Cool.
