Clutch Cable Procedure
« on: July 15, 2021, 12:18:21 pm »
Had a damaged lever, replaced and when installing the clutch cable the clutch will not disengage.

2014 Bolt.

I've replaced many cables on other bikes with no issue, understand adjustment but this bike is being difficult. It worked perfectly fine prior to the replacement, the lever pulls, I can see it moving the amateur at the clutch side. I pulled the cover and everything looks to be in place and set properly but not sure why the clutch won't disengage.

Probably something stupid that is in front of my face but I don't see it.

Is there a procedure? Anyone have a link to a shop manual?

By the way, In case you don't have the Owner's Manual for your bike, here is the blurb that addresses adjusting the clutch cable and lever, which you can see can be done on both ends of the cable, and I would suspect you haven't adjusted sufficiently.  This diagram is for a 2014 Bolt, but its the same for my 2019 Bolt.
