Bitwell Keystone Bars: Smooth or Dimpled
« on: November 16, 2020, 08:24:19 pm »
After researching the forum and a few other sites, the Bitwell Keystone Bars look like they're for me. People claim they utilize the stock cables as well. However, I'm left with one question I can't seem to find an answer to: If buying the bars (dimpled), is drilling still required to fit the "nipple" on the housing? If it does, would it be recommended to just buy the smooth version and drill that instead?

Thanks for the help

Smooth or dimpled, they will still have to be drilled for the nipple. The dimple is on the bottom of the bars, the nipple is on the front of the bars when mounted. I don't think having the dimple will hurt anything, but I believe smooth bars are typically cheaper.

dimpled bars are for Harleys.  Go with the smooth but also mark the spot and use masking tape to keep the drill bit from slipping when you drill the spot for the nipple.

Better to use a punch on the spot to be drilled -- will keep the bit on the target
