New Rider in Mass
« on: September 15, 2020, 08:31:04 pm »
Hey All- new rider up in Massachusetts. Iím 25, just bought my first bike a couple months back, a 2017 bolt with 2k miles on it. Love the bike so far, taking the msf this weekend and really learning and getting comfortable

First mod I did was to drill out the stock baffle. Really opens up the exhaust tone. Heard folks havenít had issues caused by it, but Iíll probably switch the air intake pretty soon and get an Ivan with that.

Any suggestions for best first mods? Thinking KOSO speedo, possibly some bar risers (Iím 6í), and possibly some taller rear shocks.

Thanks- excited about the community as well. If your in Mass let me know

KOSO tach-speed with Gear indicator is do LIKE (my favored upgrade)
popular - standard BLACK Numerals on a silver type background - Ebay New $288 + , or KOSO web page $365
optional - NEGATIVE Numerals, example RED Numerals on black background - BUT They are supposedly harder to read in daytime

my RED 2016 Bolt R-Spec (2nd owner, bought it 10 months ago) - i modified for a RED - BLACK look
i painted exhaust pipe silver HEAT SHIELDS and 2 removable Caps RED (a couple hour, multi layer task with Over Spray in back of my storage shed/garage

i like my brake reservoir CAP replacement (left of the Right Mirror) mine is from China, 3 week delivery , $15 , metal has etched XVX 950
COLD AIR Intake is popular change - horsepower, appearance - but at 6' you may want to choose a DESIGN that gives your Right knee more clearance (mine is the K&N which adds 7 hp supposedly and mimics the rectangular cut-outs, APPEARS Nice and as if it is STOCK
