TPMS (Tire Pressure Monitoring System)
« on: September 06, 2020, 12:08:35 am »
There is an old thread on this forum on tire pressure monitoring systems (TPMS), but the auto-monitor on this forum suggested I start a new thread.

So this is a shout-out for the TPMS I installed on my bike, which I got on eBay (https://www.ebay.com/itm/M6-Waterproof-LCD-TPMS-Motorcycle-Tire-Pressure-Monitoring-System-2-Sensors/313148005445?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649).  But there are also plenty more choices on both eBay and Amazon.

I like this particular design and features (about $30) which include instant reading and waterproof-- and the pressure reading agrees with the gage on my air compressor.  Also, (in my opinion) no need to power it on continuously while riding, though you can if you wish.  In my particular case, I have large saddlebags that cover the rear wheel, and, as the saddlebags aren't ez-on/off, I have to put the bike up on a lift to access the tire valve.  So this TPMS system saves me from having to lift up the bike just to check the tire pressure.

I just purchased a Bluetooth TPMS for both my bike and my truck (like I need ANOTHER gauge to look at while I'm riding!). Should make it easy to do a quick check on tire pressures before a scoot!  Especially since I've modified my Spoked wheels to take tubeless tires!
NOBODY hates winter more than a Canadian Biker!

Bartun TIRE PRESSURE monitor $35 - gives PEACE of Mind , click app on phone , tells you psi F / R - compared to habit of NEVER Checking
had it for one month , varies 1.5 psi per cold night , hot day psi increases (app states 31.1 F / 37.0 R now) also temperature 69F F/ 71F Rear
F 33 psi / R 36 psi is Yamaha Manual (add 3 psi for carrying 2nd passenger)
Battery - like one in a watch or calculator , battery life suppose to be 3 years as i recall (twist off valve stem CAP - twist this on, replace battery pry off plastic cap)
