Nice! I have an extra hella horn that I never put on my car. I'm gonna try it now lol

Just check that horn's specs online first ,some are 40 or even 72watts... our bike is set up for  36watt max (3.0 amps x 12v) according to the maintenance manual... wouldn't want to fry your horn switch or pop a fuse

I may be blind, but where in the manual is the max wattage for the horn stated? Iím on the look out for a replacement too, thatís all......

I think the horn is on the same fuse (7.5 Amp) as the turn signals (front 23W + rear 21W), and also the license plate light (5W).

So a 7.5 amp on a 12v system maxes at 90W.  Subtract off the turn signals (44W) and the license plate (5W) = 90W - 49W = 41W available to horn (if they are all going at once.)  Then 41 Watts divided by 12 volts = 3.4 amps which where the 3 amp limit comes from.

So if you refrain from running your turn signals while blowing your horn, you could run a bigger amp-load thru the horn (but not recommended)

Aah - thanks for the explanation, makes sense. Given it involves maths, I would never have figured that out on my own.

The horn shares the same fuse as the brake light, turn signals and headlight relay but not the tag light. Still, about the same draw stated above.

99% of the time, I have a signal on. No self-cancel on the C-Spec. :P
