C-Spec Grip Replacement Problem
« on: January 28, 2020, 02:13:29 pm »
I canít find any replacement grips for the 2016 Yamaha Bolt C-Spec!  Iíve ordered a few different grips that were supposed to be compatible according to the website compatibility check but find out the packaging excludes (C-SPEC).

Very frustrating!  Iíve tried Kuryakyn, Avon and they will not work.

Any recommendations?

Aloha!

You need to look for 7/8" bars...R-spec and standard bolt have 1".  C-spec length is 4 5/8".  Try ordering for a gen 2 Vmax, same length as C-spec...https://www.ebay.com/itm/CNC-Motorcycle-Aluminum-Rubbers-Gel-Hand-Grips-for-7-8-Handle-Bar-Sport-Bikes/183128131576?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649

Thanks for the tip bro, I'll def look into those options.

The handlebars are short and I'm using bar end mirrors that I had to Macgyver to make them fit but I'm very happy with the results.  Now I just need to find a good grip replacement over the stock.

I've got a bar end mirror on mine too.  Had to use a spacer but I like that Yamaha uses threaded inserts in these bars.  Real convenient.  I'm thinking just about any 7/8" grip with an open end is going to work.

Iíd recommend these: https://www.bikebandit.com/aftermarket-parts/control-brakes/grips/odi-vans-cult-7-8-grips/p/63933

You can cut the end off to work with your bar end mirrors. Theyíre comfortable and gives the bar a little more thickness unlike the thin factory grips. Only $20 too.
