New to Raleigh, NC area
« on: September 19, 2015, 07:56:01 am »
I recently moved down from Ohio, trying to move closer to home. Really liking it so far except the traffic can be irritating some times. I started to ride my bike to work in Cary last week, it's about 26 miles each way through mostly country roads.

Spent my last quarter century in Charlotte. You think the traffic is bad where you're at I can almost guarantee this city and its garbage urban planning are worse. Make sure to head towards the mountains when you get a chance. Blue Ridge Parkway is a hell of a ride.

I'm still here! Found some different routes to make my ride home from work more enjoyable. It's a good bit out of the way, but some nice back country roads. One portion has these mini speed bumps where the asphalt is buckling a bit though.

How's everyone enjoying the nice weather? I've been riding to work 2-3 times a week when I can. Took a ride down to a new state park on Saturday.

I'm in the Triangle area, near the airport. Just got my Bolt last week and took it for a nice country ride over to Ayden, NC to get some BBQ (200 miles roundtrip.) As a transplant from Chicago, the idea of a comfortable afternoon ride in February still takes some getting used to. Love it.
