Denali SoundBomb Horn upgrade
« on: June 15, 2020, 12:31:15 pm »
Didn't really find anything on the forums in regards to the Denali Horn. One of the first mods I did to my new bike because BETTER SAFE THAN SORRY!

Here's the audio link. And here's my cons (also shared in the video description link).

* My knee hits the horn spot causing my knee to be tender/sore sometimes...
* The little screw they supply to mount the relay behind the horn stripped the plastic thread so had to mount it underneath the seat (which is hard because no room there either.
* The relay seems like it isn't fully seated leaving you jamming the thing together but in reality that's just as far as it pushes in.

I don't think there is any advantage of an aftermarket horn, as the Bolt already has a very loud horn -- and it is mounted where it is most effective - up front of the bike.  I seldom honk the horn, but when I have I was astounded as to how loud it was.

My original horn quit working and I needed to pass inspection.
I installed the Denali Soundbomb mini horn.  If I remember right, it's good and loud.

I replaced my little road runner with a Fiamm Freeway Blaster, just incase they didn't hear me already.

Is it plug and play? Just ordered one.

I believe you need to wire a relay in , directly from the battery... unless this is a new version of the airhorn...

There’s a wire harness available. Plug and play the entire thing. No splicing or wire tapping. Took longer to run the wires then install it. Only downsides I stated. Haven’t had to use it yet to see people’s reactions.

Thanks. Do you know where one orders the wire harness?

That’s actually the problem. They’re all on back order on all the websites, but I was able to find a UK vendor on eBay who had it in stock. New and quick shipping.

I got this one from amazon a couple years go.  I'm not 100% sure but I believe it's identical to the denali or at least very similar.  I got this one because I couldn't find the denali on amazon.  It was plug and play as far as I remember.  Reused all existing hardware and definitely didn't have to get any wire harness.

WAY LOUDER than the stock oem roadrunner horn.

Plug and play.  Mounting fits the same as the stock one and same two connectors.

Congrats! Doesn’t your knee hit it while you ride though? At least mine does. Can’t hug the tank and sometimes get tender/bruised from it lol.

Able to find the wiring harness?
