Title: Yamaha bolt biltwell Keystone Slotted bars
Post by: viper0296 on January 06, 2021, 05:22:12 am
Hi Guys,
looking to get a set of biltwell keystone handle bars, and seems every one in Australia is sold out of the smooth style bars.
some companies have the slotted available but unsure of fitment and if they will work?
has any one fitted the slotted style with out issue??
does any one have a picture of the slots? All I can see is the same generic picture
appreciate the feedback
Cheers Bolters

Shouldn't be an issue to use dimpled bars when the originals were smooth. If the controls are a bit sloppy when tightened down, a layer of electrical tape should snug them up.

Your original bars have holes drilled in them to accept a tab on each of the two control housings that prevents them from rotating or moving on the bar.  Most after-market bars don't have predrilled holes because the maker won't know just how you are going to place the control housings on them or even what bike you are putting them on.  The pre-drilled or slotted bars can be used if the outside diameter where the controls go is 25 mm (1"), but the holes or slots may not line up where you want them.  Just my opinion but you are better off drilling your own holes for the control housing tabs, rather than clipping the tabs off.
