Seat doesnít touch frame.....
« on: June 14, 2020, 05:12:00 pm »
So I installed dash cam and upgraded the horn and now my seat doesnít touch the frame..taking it out for a ride now to test everything but if you donít hear back from me you know why hah.

Now I DO want an upgraded seat thatís wider but now that I just encountered this issue I feel like Iíve really tied my hands... would a new seat have adjustment frame pegs? Or is there such a thing as adjustment frame pegs? Gotta be some solution to this. For now I just shoved thick foam in between..

Looks like your seat is lying upon some wiring -- possibly you installed for your dash cam.  The solution would be to reroute your wiring so that it doesn't interfere with the seat.

IMHO - the bolt and its sub models don't fit and finish as slick as you may be used to from say a honda or sadly, even a kawi. Some stuff does not fit up tight. Maybe even one to the next - who knows.

Cool.

Yea itís a giant rats nest underneath there I got it as clean as possible but due to the size of the dash cam module and the upgraded horn relay thereís no other location/option for the stuff.. Nowhere to re-route the stuff to unless strapped to side of bike or underneath...

Hmm, no ones run in to this issue and found seat rubber stopper extensions or adjustable seats? Iíll do a bunch of digging tomorrow. Figured Iíd post here first see if anyone with similar bike had a solution.

I did survive the ride with the foam underneath, canít say I really noticed anything at all, but feel like I need a safer solution than foam..

If you put on a springer seat, there will be a lot of space under the seat, depending on how it is made.  I have a like-new springer seat I'm not using if you are interested.

Here are some pictures of the springer seat I have.  The brackets I made are in addition to the springs and nose attachment that came with the seat.  The pictures show them in bare metal, but I have since painted them black.  You can see plenty of room under that seat.

Thanks for that!! I ended up with a Mustang seat which fits perfectly over the wires!!! But just posted a new issue with their damn incorrectly placed tab...
