Exhaust Protector?
« on: August 15, 2020, 10:03:15 am »
On the left side of the bike crash bar pretty much protects everything along with solo bag in a left side fall.

What about right side fall?

Crash bar will protect most of the front right, but the exhaust on the right rear will most likely end up scratched.

I’ve seen cheesy colored bumpers for crotch rocket exhausts.

Curious if there’s a quality one or alternative someone recommends.

It’s not “IF” BUT “WHEN”..

Do a search in this forum on "sliders" -- quite a lot of posts on it.

You might also try a broader web search on "sliders and rear crash bars for motorcycles."  But I think there is nothing made specifically for the Bolt.

Wasn’t sure if those would protect exhaust. I’ll check em out. Thanks.

Oh and is there such thing as clutch and brake lever protectors?

Those getting damaged could leave ya stranded.

They're called  motorcycle hand guards.  I don't think they make them for the Bolt but you might be able to adapt one on.

Yamaha makes a crash bar for the Bolt, but to my knowledge, you can't use it with forward foot controls over 2.5".  Whether that crash bar could save your handlebar levers I don't know.

This might be what you're looking for...

YOOOO!! That’s perfect. Looks a bit gay but rather protect my investment in worst case scenario! Looks like it installs where one of the rivet/bolts are? Can’t find any install instructions or videos or other pictures or hardware. Thank you!

I've been using the Socal Bolt Riders sliders for a little over a year.  Super easy install.  And seriously, the price is too low.  Snatch them up.

And check out Dean Speed Customs if you want a legit front crash bar.

I remember researching those before I opted for the Yamaha Crash Bars and while I can confirm the Yamaha construction and durability is superb in a dump; I feel like Deans would offer better clutch/brake lever protection as it seems to extend a bit further, but at the same time feel as though due to the nature of its installation wouldn’t be as durable in a dump (could get bent or crack/snap maybe)—just my observation.

I've seen the yamaha bars come in after being dumped.  they really don't do much in the way of protecting the bike. I've seen stunters beat the dean speeds to within an inch of its life and have very little issue.

either way, lets hope you never have to use them.
