Issues with Embedding Youtube BB Code

NOTE - I am going to leave this post unrevised so that everyone can enjoy the endless entertainment I provide myself with.... PLEASE read the most recent post I made on this thread, it explains why I find myself so humorous...




Hi everyone

I emailed admins Ace and Matt because the youtube link button is malfunctional currently. Right now when you click on the youtube link button above (the first button second row) it is bracketed wrong and adds size and font formatting, which is why youtube videos wont appear as embedded video clips in our posts. (Serendipitously discovered this morning after about forty-fifty post/modify/post attempts at embedding videos on one of my posts, and after having some very choice expletives come out of my grill enough times to get the old lady to remind me the munchkin was watching Curious George in the next room and my expletives were no longer acceptable)... :o


To properly embed youtube videos within the actual post you must manually type in

[ youtube ] *website unformatted address here* [ /youtube ]

NOTE: In the above example, I had to add those spaces between brackets and youtube - otherwise it posts as an *invalid youtube link* lol!!!


Also to note, you cannot have any formatting in the hyperlink, so when you cut and paste the youtube address, highlight that portion once you paste and then click on the Remove Formatting button all the way to the right, second from the last.

Here is an example:  if you want to look at the bb code, just click on quote, then look at how the coding is written for the bracketed youtube link, and then just hit the back button, don't save that post, unless of course you want to compliment me on my technical savvy (LOL!!!)  ;D   :o   8)   :P  ...

Ok... never mind.... I'm a quite a fool when the caffeine has not fully infused into my cerebral vasculature in the early Sunday morning hours...


The youtube link button works just fine.... It was my fault... the formatting was preexisting in my posts already... When I tested my hypothesis on a brand new post, the button works just fine...


So lesson in all of this...  watch the formatting in your posts, because if you cut and paste and then modify, stuff might get jacked...


Now to email Ace and Matt again and profusely apologize for setting off the Cry Wolf alarms and prematurely taking credit for being some tech savvy phenom when all I am is a jerk with too much time and typing skeelz!!! lol!!!   8)
