Hello!
« on: October 17, 2014, 09:15:00 pm »
I am considering buying a Yamaha Bolt as my choice for a first Motorcycle. I am new to riding only having minimal experience riding. My only experience is on a dirt bike as a child and into young adulthood. I am in my early 40's and am finally taking steps to get my endorsement and become a motorcycle owner. I plan to take the beginner riding course here in Washington State(hopefully this month before they stop offering it due to the oncoming winter months) I live in Yakima, Washington and would like to get some perspective from those of you who own a Bolt! I look forward to learning all kinds of things and getting to know the community!

Welcome from the Oregon coast. Not really sure what to say about the bike. Still as in love as when I bought it 18 months ago.

Welcome! There's not much to say about the bike. It pretty much speaks for itself. Just going through the forum you can see all the awesome things the bike is capable of becoming. But for those who aren't mechanically inclined *cough* myself *cough*, its really awesome just as a stock bike. I upgraded from a CBR250 and kick myself for not just buying the Bolt first. Its got enough power to satisfy and thrill as well as looks to kill. Easy to handle too. My riding experience is somewhat limited at being 7 months total (2 months on the CBR, 5 months on the Bolt). Simply put, you can't go wrong with this bike.

Great Bike. Got one after not riding street or dirt bikes for about 5 or 6 years dirt wise and about 10 years for street. Great learning bike for newb or seasoned.

Wirigere,

Welcome to this forum.

I have to agree with others here. You can not go wrong with the Bolt. The Bolt is my first motorcycle after riding a 150cc scooter for a year or so (blew up the engine going WOT for too long) and then a 250cc Honda Reflex for two years. I sold the Reflex and bought a new car. A year later I purchased the Bolt. Wow! The power and response of the Bolt is exciting compared to the scooters. My Bolt is my primary source of transportation. I was looking into the HD 883 and Honda cruisers months before stumbling on the Bolt. I am glad that I stumbled on the Bolt.

Welcome!
I'm north of the Dry Shitties, just up the road.  Love my bolt.
