Its cheaper here than from our site directly. Beware of the cheapest one online......when it comes to service, you get what you pay for.

I believe so... The Bolt engine has the same air filter mounting that the Vstar has... I actually ordered a new air kit for my bolt from cobra that says it fits the Vstar 950 but we will see!

I can't wait either lol... I'm thinking I'd wait and see how the bike rides without the fuel controller upgrade... I have a hunch that the bike doesn't need the upgraded fuel controller... My mechanic agrees lol

I would always add a fuel controller. Especially on Yamahas......I have been involved with tons of intake, fuel and exhaust testing in my career and there is no easy way around it. The bikes just run better. Without a controller, the ECM may think their is an air leak and fatten up fuel delivery destroying performance and gas mileage. Im a firm believer in "If you arent going to do it right, dont do it". Im gonna test my bike in every scenario possible just as I did when we developed out steakth kit for the Raider and Roadliner. As soon as all my parts are ready then I can post up the finding and know for sure. Facts are facts!

Meh... You guys are killing me... But I think chucky's point about not doing it if you can't do it right might win out... I think I am going to hold off a few weeks until I can just plop down the cash to get the airbox upgrade/slip on/fuel controller all together and then just install all at once...  Decisions, decisions... Thanks Chucky! Thanks Jbod!

An engine is just an air pump....adiing an air kit only will look cool but basically produce no more power, probably even produce less. But, if you add a high flow exhaust that helps evacuate the newly introduced extra air with the proper fuel for productive burn, thats when you see an increase. At the end of the day, its only a 950 anyhow......

I think my overall desire is not about increasing the power of the Bolt, her stock power is enough for my current riding style and desires...  But I do want the bike to look and sound exactly the way I want her to... And for me, the stock airbox is a ghastly behemoth and I want to throw on an aftermarket airbox right away... The exhaust is also necessary to complete the look and sound I desire, but I don't want to run her too lean.  That is why I think my best bet is rather than do them piece meal, just to save up for the next month, then do everything together... That is what I am going to do.

Cheers chucky, thank you for your sage advice regarding internal combustion engines... I can build a PC from the deck up, but I look at an engine the wrong way and she will spit a spark plug at me and need a tune up just for spite... ;)  :P   :P   :P
