Has any one put on or made a gun rack for their bolt? Handgun or long gun?

Something like this?
If you have enough grease & a big enough hammer, you can put anything... anywhere.

I would hate to wreck and have my gun go flying down the street or end up with the tow truck driver. EMS and ER staff will have a cop secure your gun if you get transported. They are used to it. I am not sure I would trust the tow truck guy as much, and again, the big thing being it gets tossed into the bushes where a kid finds it.

I have wrecked with my pistol on my strong side hip. I landed on my right and the pistol was the least of my concerns. I would not carry SOB because that is just stupid regardless of mode of transportation IMO, or shoulder holster. I can easily picture your arm breaking if you land on your gun side with the gun acting as the fulcrum on your upper arm.

The other thing to consider is that yeah, open carry is legal in VA but, someone will call about the guy riding with a gun. You will get pulled over and checked out. Why deal with the inconvenience?

The bag on my handlebars carry gun and extra clips.

Check out San Diego Customs accessory bag.

I usually don't carry if on my Bolt, but my leather jacket has an inside carry pocket for my pistol and spare clips if I ever feel the need.  A lot of the jackets on Leatherup.com have this feature.
Not more than an elastic strap, but it works well.

That's a good idea I could take my old banjo out and strap it to my bike but I think zip ties might be more appropriate lol atleast I won't have to worry about it scratching my new one so I might try it
