Didn't know the SM had disappeared.   Here it is for everybody - right out of the SM......

In reality, you don't really need the Tach  - and the oil filled tube IS the vacuum gauge.....  And if you're allowed 10mmHg difference between your cylinders - then that would be anything less than 5" difference in the oil levels is well within limits.....  But the closer, the better, and you should be able to get it within 1/2" really easily - since you only have to adjust one screw.

Did the fuel sync today. Bought the tubing at home depot for 4 bucks. Couldnt find a T fitting for 3/16 so took it out of the hood of he car. There was a t fitting for the windshield wiper fluid so borrowed it lol. Anyways, it was way off. So much thinking the dealer did it (goodbye 180 bucks). Bike sounds great and feels so smooth! Thanks guys!    Gives me the peace of mind now.

Edited: So rode my bike to work this morning. It was difficult to go up to 75mph and over before as it would vibrate to the point where it was pretty uncomfortable. Now.. Smooth. I even didnt realize I was doing 83 (oops).

It was probably done at the factory - but as the engine breaks in and wears, it'll change a bit.  If the dealer used gauges - they'll probably be nowhere near as accurate as the tubing method, too.

Or they didnt do it at all at the dealership. The adjustment screws were all the way in on both sides

Since I already had the Motion Pro "SyncPRO Model 08-0411" Sync Tubes, I used it to check the Throttle Body Sychronization...of course I only have 213 miles on the bike...but that does not matter...these Yamaha Throttle Bodies do go out of sync a lot...not just on these V-Twins but also on V-Fours, In-Line Fours, etc, etc...

Anyway, I just thought that I would add my check to the thread...

I like that "Transmission Fluid" used in the home made vacuum gauge...the biggest problem with this Motion Pro is that the liquid has a tendency to "stick" a bit and you get some air bubbles in the line...so you need to tap the bottom of whole assembly on a hard surface to get the bubbles to escape out the top of the tubes...

Its not a big thing and once you get use to using it, the whole process only takes 5-10 minutes...

After calibrating the Motion Pro, I checked my sync and it was right on...so no adjustments were needed but just so I knew that I was cranking on the right adjustment screws, I messed around with it bit...

BTW...one thing I don't like about the Throttle Body Synchronization on this Bolt is that the air filter and housing are all removed to do the check and adjustments...that is NOT right...I understand that you can not get to the adjustment screws...nor can you get the vacuum hoses on to the vacuum tubes on the engine...

I am going to make a mod to my air filter housing with holes and rubber plugs so that the adjustment can be made with the filter and housing on the bike...

The only thing that I will have to figure out is how I am going to mod that black plastic on the top of the housing that goes inboard towards the top of the engine where the vacuum tubes are...

If that is not modified, then disassembly and assembly would have to be done three times but that is no good either, as the sync check and adjustment should be done in one go...

I will figure something out and post my sync check doing it without the filter and housing and then again with them installed...to see how much difference there is in the levels...
