Tool roll
« on: October 24, 2014, 12:19:48 pm »
I am thinking of fitting a tool roll holder to the front and wondered if fitted to the forks(with gaiters) would it eventually rub through the rubber when braking.

Or is it better to fit them on the handlebars ?

Any pics ?

I have a small leather toolbag attached to the lower front of my frame behind the front tire.
Thats my emergency stash bag,,, tools, small rain poncho, flashlight, knife and one or two other things.

I've considered taking the tools out lately though.  I dunno

I'm convinced you can make anything fit with enough deterination, time and beer.

Forgot that area..looks like a place for an extra one.

I was thinking that if mounted on the handlebars it would change the air flow higher, for the better. I found the front end, speedo etc keeps quite a bit of wind of the body anyway.

Way better than the HD Iron I had. :)

Looks good either way. I've been considering a rectangular bag (small sissy bar bag) on the frame behind the front wheel. for looks as well as a place to carry my tire inflator/repair kit and tools.
I always carry tools, a few fuses and spare fasteners. As far as breakdowns go I haven't needed them for my own bike in years but I have helped out a few people along the way. You never know when the opportunity to help out a stranded HD rider will present itself, they get pretty humble when they're stranded. lol
